The Chevy Bolt EV is one of the most popular electric vehicles in the world. It has been in production for years and continues to be a top-rated electric car. However, there have been some recent issues with the Chevy Bolt battery that are causing concern among owners. There have even been not only fire risks, but fires themselves, caused by these batteries! If you or someone you know owns a Chevy Bolt EV read on to find out more about this recall information.
Chevy Bolt EV fire risk
If you own a Chevy Bolt EV, then you may be at risk for fire. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has opened an investigation into whether or not the battery packs in the vehicles pose a safety risk. The NHTSA has received numerous complaints from owners about fires in their cars, which is why they’ve launched this investigation into whether or not there are any underlying issues with these vehicles’ electrical system or battery packs.
If this sounds familiar, it’s because it sounds just like another recent recall for electric cars: Tesla Model S fires have been making headlines recently due to several incidents involving batteries catching on fire while parked or charging at home overnight–and now we’re seeing similar problems arise with other models as well!

In May 2018, GM announced it would conduct voluntary recalls for about 1,200 Bolts due to potential fire risks associated with batteries supplied by LG Chem. In addition, there were reports that some Bolts were catching fire while being charged at public charging stations.
